ABOUT LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
Nestled at the foot of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara National Park is one of Tanzania’s most scenic safari destinations. Though relatively small (about 330 sq. km), it offers incredible ecological diversity – from lush groundwater forests to open floodplains and the shimmering alkaline Lake Manyara itself.
The park is world-famous for its tree-climbing lions and large flocks of flamingos that blanket the lake’s shoreline. With over 400 bird species, abundant elephants, and rich landscapes, Lake Manyara is the perfect introduction or complement to a Northern Circuit safari.
